Coach Captain

Job Type: Part-time or casual
Hours: Flexible – up to 40 hours a wk

An introduction

Barnabus is a young and vibrant coach charter operator in the southside of Brisbane (Springwood). We have been in operation for 10 years and counting, specialising in custom group charter. With a strong emphasis in team culture and the personal touch with our clients, our demand continues to grow especially after the 2 year pause in our industry.

Our clients include schools, travel agents, corporates, tourists, private customers but the one thing that sets our work apart is that our passengers are always excited to be travelling.

The Role

A bus driver is so much more than just steering a bus. A coach captain’s role is to represent the company, looking after the vehicle and the passengers, ensuring they arrive at their destination comfortably, relaxed, safely, punctually, and efficiently.

This is not a role for someone who likes the mundane and repetition, as no two days are the same. You will be responsible for preparing the vehicle for departure, making sure it’s presentable, planning your journey, delivering your passengers in a professional manner and ensuring good communication with the customer and operations.

As a coach captain, you will get a great corner office with views that are constantly changing, visiting many places including natural scenery, tourist attractions, behind-the-scene operations, projects and much more. You’ll get to drive many different vehicles on all kinds of roads, which we take pride of with our fleet of late model and well-appointed vehicles.

Whilst on standby (which is paid unlike some other operators) you are free to use the time for leisure, relax or study, work on your own project etc.

We have a great team culture where we encourage all our team members to engage in our daily operations, often catching up after work or outside of work. We are a family and family-friendly business.

We are looking for coach captains to join us across all days of the week. We can plan our allocations to suit your current commitments. This role may also suit someone who already has a full-time job but looking for a side-hobby/job for the weekend. We are offering above-industry rates and are happy to negotiate how we can meet your needs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum MR (medium rigid) license, preferably manual
  • Must hold or be able to obtain driver’s authorisation (police, traffic and health check)
  • Be physically fit and healthy
  • Fluent in English and possess good communication skills both in-person and electronically
  • Be confident in using technology such as navigation and messaging devices

We look forward to hearing from you and to have you join our expanding team.
